This review focuses on an exceptional Tomatin and this expression was distilled in 2006, matured initially in a bourbon hogshead before being finished for 6 months in a PX octave and bottled at a cask strength abv of 53.9% in 2018.

Nose: Intensely sweet & fiery, with hints of ginger & spice along with Christmas cask aromas.   Palate: Rich, sweet & spicy. Fruit & syrup notes are complemented by hints of citrus, heavy oak & nuts.   Finish: Long & intensely warming; take the time to sift through the sweet tannins and find the hidden fruits.
