A secret Islay single malt, matured in an ex-Alter Ego barrique
Nose: Sweet aromas on the nose with a hint of peat and some savoury notes. Intriguing elements of juniper and red berries, perhaps cherry.
Palate: Gentle and delicate, even at cask strength. Golden syrup and barley sugar, with just the right amount of smoky sweetness throughout.
Finish: Long and rich subtlety, with some spice that was hidden initially. Honeycomb and soft oak. Comes a long way from the initially light aromas.
