Review #82: The Single Cask Staoisha 2013 5 Years Old

This review focuses on an exceptional Staoisha, which is a peated variant from Bunnahabhain distillery. This expression was distilled in 2013, matured in a bourbon hogshead for 5 years before being bottled at a cask strength abv of 59.3% in 2019.

So, let's dive right into the review!

The Single Cask Staoisha 2013 5 Years Old (59.3% abv)

Nose: Peat smoke, oak and chocolate are apparent, with some green notes.   Palate: Oily and rich, with peat and earthy green notes giving way to honeycomb, raisins and rum sweetness.   Finish: Varnish, heather and sea air with warm tobacco smoke.

This expression is available in extremely limited quantities by the dram at The Single Cask.
