This review focuses on another expression of Ardmore and this was distilled in 2008, matured in an ex-Laphroaig cask (just like the 9 Years Old expression) and bottled at a cask strength abv of 59.4% in 2019.

The Single Cask Ardmore 2008 10 Years Old (59.4% abv)


Nose: Lingering smoke and coastal salinity, with sea salt and wet slate being followed by citrus and ferns.   Palate: Creamy vanilla coupled with subtle smoke, oak and soft stone fruits.   Finish: Vanilla, soft peat and smoke alongside stone fruits and pencil shavings.
