This review focuses on a delicious Glentauchers which was distilled in 1997, matured in a bourbon hogshead for 20 years before being bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.9% in 2018.

The Single Cask Glentauchers 1997 20 Years Old (49.9% abv)


Nose: Milk chocolate and shortbread biscuits, with vegetal barley underneath.   Palate: Cask spices begin to develop on the palate (think nutmeg and ginger), while continued chocolatey notes keep it sweet.   Finish: Banana and peach, alongside buttery pastry.
