This review focuses on the first of two interesting Aultmore expressions and this was distilled in 2010, matured initially in a bourbon hogshead before being transferred into a PX octave for an additional 3 months of finishing then being bottled at a cask strength abv of 62.7% in 2018.
So, let's dive right into the review!
The Single Cask Aultmore 2010 8 Years Old PX Finish (62.7% abv)
Nose: Coffee bean, dried fruit, perhaps even a hint of pineapple.
Palate: An intense attack of raisin and raspberry, tempered slightly by robust vanilla pod sweetness and earthiness.
Finish: A hint of coastal air alongside chocolate and malt.
