This week's review focuses on the next expression in a series of reviews devoted to the new arrivals within The Single Cask range, and we've put up a rather interesting Ardmore!
This expression was distilled in 1996, matured for 21 years in a single bourbon hogshead and bottled at a cask strength abv of 53.8% by The Single Cask.
So, let's dive right into the review!
The Single Cask Ardmore 1996 21 Years Old (Bottled at 53.8% abv)
Nose: A strong oak influence, with hints of orange oil and a smoky fragrance developing.
Palate: Thick waves of honey and caramel, with the smoke and mature oak once again coming through.
Finish: Quite lively, with black pepper and a pinch of sea salt.
Balance: An Ardmore that was worth waiting for! The mouthfeel is oily with an increasing dryness towards the end.
This expression is available for purchase by the dram or as a part of a flight for in-bar consumption, as well as by the bottle for either in-bar or retail/takeaway purposes. Please approach our friendly staff for more information and they will be more than happy to assist you with any queries you have have.
