The Single Cask Whisky Review #82: The Single Cask Ardmore 1999 18 Years Old

This week's review focuses on the next expression in a series of reviews devoted to the new arrivals within The Single Cask range, and we've put up a rather exceptional Ardmore!

This expression was distilled in 1999, matured for 18 years in a single bourbon hogshead and bottled at a cask strength abv of 56.8% by The Single Cask.

So, let's dive right into the review!

The Single Cask Ardmore 1999 18 Years Old (Bottled at 56.8% abv)

Colour: Amber

Nose: Sweet barley, gentle smoke, robust alcohol and earth.

Palate: Barbecued pork, barley malt, grist and oak.

Finish: Long and aromatic finish, filled with smoke and oak.

Balance: A well-balanced and enjoyable expression which showcases the classic Ardmore profile while providing more complexity and nuances than one would typically expect from the official bottlings. The mouthfeel is oily but gets drying over time.

This expression is available for purchase by the dram or as a part of a flight for in-bar consumption, as well as by the bottle for either in-bar or retail/takeaway purposes. Please approach our friendly staff for more information and they will be more than happy to assist you with any queries you have have.
