Review #4: The Single Cask Glen Garioch 1995 19 Years Old

This review focuses on another bottling from the early days of The Single Cask and it showcases a Glen Garioch which was distilled in 1995, matured in a single bourbon hogshead for 19 years before being bottled at a cask strength abv of 62.7% back in 2014.

So, let's dive right into the review!

The Single Cask Glen Garioch 1995 19 Years Old (62.7% abv)

Nose: Clean, fresh, elegant and not at all heavy. Instead one finds bright floral aromatics – Kitchen flowers on a spring morning and a lemon and lime effervescence. Also scorched brown sugar, loads of ginger, white pepper and cardamom.

Palate: As the nose suggests, but the spice arrives. First, ginger and cardamom tea with a fizzy citrus bite! Clearly a powerful spirit. More burnt sugar and fresh flowers

Finish: Long and aromatic. A zester pucker!

This expression is available in very limited quantities by the dram at The Single Cask and there are a small number of bottles which can be purchased from the bar itself. Please note that both drams and bottles are subject to availability.
