This review focuses on a rather delicious corn whiskey expression from Heaven Hill which was distilled in 2009, matured in a barrel for 8 years before being bottled at a cask strength abv of 53.2% in 2018.

The Single Cask Heaven Hill 2009 8 Years Old (53.2% abv)
Nose: Sweet, floral malt, caramelised nuts, fragrant citrus and toasty oak alongside baking spices.
Palate: Vanilla sponge cake & butter icing, with orange marmalade & cinnamon loaf with dried fruit.
Finish: Black pepper, dark chocolate, caramel and oak.
