Review #59: The Single Cask Glenshiel 2011 7 Years Old

This review focuses on an excellent Glenshiel which is from an undisclosed distillery within the Speyside region of Scotland. This expression was distilled in 2011, matured initially in a bourbon hogshead before being transferred to a PX octave for an additional period of maturation then being bottled at a cask strength abv of 61% in 2019.

So, let's dive right into the review!

The Single Cask Glenshiel 2011 7 Years Old (61% abv)

Nose: Sweet and desert-like; coffee, tiramisu, caramel and sweet fruits. Light & delicate.

Palate: More rich in texture and flavour than the aromas might suggest. Fruitcake and marzipan, with spices including clove that linger.

Finish: Complex finish filled with dark fruits and sweet syrup.

This expression is available in extremely limited quantities by the dram at The Single Cask.
