This review focuses on a rather tasty expression of Dailuaine and it was distilled in 2011, matured initially in a bourbon hogshead before being transferred to an Oloroso octave for an additional period of maturation then being bottled at a cask strength abv of 59.2% 2019.
So, let's dive right into the review!
The Single Cask Dailuaine 2011 7 Years Old (59.2% abv)
Nose: Malt & grist, with honey, caramel and vanilla beans over a touch of cinnamon
Palate: More honey and caramel, now with the cinnamon coming through stronger along with brown sugar.
Finish: A suggestion of raisins and soft oak at the end, very drying.
This expression is sold out worldwide.
